Timothy F. Bussineau brings over two decades of dedicated service in education and public leadership to his role as a Powered by Scholar Co. admissions consultant. Timothy earned his BA in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Saginaw Valley State University before obtaining his MA in Teaching from Wayne State University.
During his extensive career, Timothy distinguished himself as a Law and Public Safety Educator, where he specialized in preparing high school students for successful transitions into legal and protective service fields. A passionate mentor and AP-level instructor, he established an inaugural Mock Trial program—leading teams to state qualifications—and pioneered the "Tuesday Talk with a Professional" series to connect students with over 40 industry experts. His commitment to student excellence was recognized at the highest levels when he was chosen as a Regional Finalist for the Michigan Department of Education Teacher of the Year.
Timothy’s expertise extends to the administrative side of the admissions process, having authored dozens of faculty recommendation letters for the Common App. His strategic advocacy has helped students secure admissions to numerous prestigious colleges and universities throughout the Great Lakes area and across the country. Now, he applies his strategic planning and mentorship skills to his work as a college admissions consultant, working closely with teenagers and their parents as they prepare for, navigate, and complete the college admissions process. With a mission-driven approach rooted in transparency and trust, Timothy empowers students to distill their unique talents into authentic narratives that stand out in the competitive application process.
