John is one of Scholar Co.’s Senior Advisors, bringing over a decade of experience supporting students through the college admissions process. He has worked with Scholar Co. since 2019 and holds a Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA. A graduate of New York University, John moved to Los Angeles after graduation where he began tutoring high school students, initially as a way to supplement his acting income. John quickly fell in love with the process of helping each student maximize their academic potential, reinforcing important study habits that match their unique learning styles. He went on to earn his TEFL Certificate, which led to a teaching stint in Peru. This was followed by a move to China, where John worked as an admissions consultant and handled a caseload of over 80 students attending some of the top independent American boarding schools and looking to continue their education in the United States. John later moved to San Francisco where joined the Scholar Co. team.

By supporting each client individually and helping his students discover their passions, John has guided hundreds of students and families through various stages of decision-making throughout their high school careers, implementing strategies to help them build the strongest student profiles possible. As an admissions consultant and college essay coach, he helps each student embrace their authentic voice. His clients have gained admission to some of America's most prestigious colleges and universities.

John applies a diligent, innovative, and personalized approach when consulting with and providing college advising and application support to students and families within the Scholar Co. community.
